Esther Flatters

Esther (she/her) is a certified intimacy coordinator based in the United Kingdom. Coming from a performance background, she gained a BA (Hons) degree from Westminster University and has a plethora of experience in front and behind the camera. Before focusing on her work as an intimacy coordinator, Esther spent the last decade in the industry working in film. In the last five years, she has worked consistently as a costume supervisor, costume standby, and stylist. Bringing a special blend of skills from her performance background in movement and academic ventures, some of her BAFTA award winning credits include The Gentlemen, Black Mirror, The Diplomat, Gangs of London with her work featured on Netflix, Amazon Prime, BBC, Channel 4 and Paramount Plus. 

Personal ties with being part of the LGBTQIA+ circle in London has seen Esther working for Torture Garden (the worlds largest fetish club). Her time in this role means she can offer valuable guidance and consultation with kink related content for productions as a speciality.

A big advocate in understanding political activism in racial inequality and sexism, Esther believes not just relying on “safe spaces”, but creating genuine safe structures for people to work and operate in.

Esther’s process as an intimacy coordinator, allowing actors to deliver performances where they feel safe and empowered to do their best work whilst giving the director the opportunity to fulfil their creative vision.
