Marcelo Massano
Marcelo Massano (he/him) is a clinical psychologist, screenwriter, and unscripted intimacy coordinator. In 2003, he obtained a postgraduate degree in Gender, Sexuality, and Reproductive Health. In 2011, he obtained a master's degree in the field of clinical psychology, researching schizoanalysis and industrial writing processes. He has worked as a psychologist in private practice for over 15 years, using a psychoanalytic approach, schizoanalysis, and EMDR therapy.
He worked in non-governmental organizations linked to the defense of LGBTQIA+ rights and coordinated projects to prevent AIDS and sexually transmitted infections for vulnerable populations. He was a consultant for the Ministry of Health's National STI/AIDS Program, where he developed public policies linked to the first Brazilian PEP program (post-exposure prophylaxis).
Since 2003, he has been working as a screenwriter, having worked on numerous titles such as Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, Top Chef, Celebrity IOU Brazil, Are You the One?, and others. In addition to script writing, he participates in casting processes and has interviewed more than 500 personas from the programs he scripted, developing psychological profiles focused on biological, historical, and social aspects, where he investigated the personality and behavior of the characters and worked on meanings and emotional components present in the life history of each of them. Most recently he has completed training to become an intimacy coordinator in unscripted content and finished filming season 3 of Amazon Brazil’s hit show Wild & Free.
