Renata Naxara

Renata Naxara (she/her) is a Brazil-based intimacy coordinator for unscripted content, screenwriter, and therapeutic companion for mental health care. She graduated from university with a degree in social communication with a specialization in broadcasting for radio and TV, and has a post-graduate degree in instructional design. She is currently studying to attain a degree in psychology. Renata has worked as a media programmer, production assistant, editor and screenwriter for various TV stations in Brazil.

She is trained as a therapeutic companion for mental health in the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach by the Anxiety Program (AMBAN) of the Institute of Psychiatry HC FMUSP (Faculty of Medicine, University of São Paulo), trained in program called “Fundamentals and Experiences in Non-Violent Communication in Cities,” and completed a conflict management course as well. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and a communication and mental health professional, Renata is committed to pooling her skills to create a safe and inclusive environment on film sets. Her goals as an IC are: providing psychological support and mental health first-aid to talent to help maintain their emotional health and well-being during the shoot, advocating for the talent to ensure their mental and physical safety during filming. and facilitating clear communication and consent between talent and production.

In addition to Portuguese, Renata is fluent in English and Spanish with vast international experience living and working around the world, particularly in Europe and South America. She is available to travel anywhere in Latin America for work.
