In this seminar, some of the things Amelia will discuss include models of disability, systemic oppression (dis)ableism and what causes barriers in society to disabled people, what we can do to help remove those barriers, and best practices when it comes to language.
Amelia is a US-born blind performer, disability studies educator, access activist, and doctoral student currently based in London, England. They work across multiple performance disciplines, including acting, music, circus and dance, including performing as an aerialist as part of the Paralympic Opening Ceremony.
Tickets are being offered on a sliding scale of $40, $60, or $80 USD. Please direct any questions about the workshop to training@IPAinternational.org.
